Why the platform exists
An expiration date does not tell the whole story
A domain can expire and still remain registered. It can move through recovery stages, enter pending delete, be released and then be registered by someone else within a short period. Treating those events as the same status creates bad decisions.
DeletedBusiness keeps those stages separate. Public discovery pages use real discovery records. Searches made inside a customer account stay private. If a release has not been observed or current availability has not been confirmed, the platform says so.

Relevant dates and later status checks are kept separate so you can judge how current a record is.
Claims with limits
Pending delete is not called deleted, and a released name is not called available until a fresh registration check supports that claim.
